There’s something special about spending time on a small island that is less easy to find on large land masses. Is it the fact that you can only to arrive by boat or plane? That you could walk all the way round if you wanted?

Or maybe it’s something to do with people living and working together, the need for communities to be more self-contained and self-sustaining. Islands can often perfectly represent the original sharing communities where - if you have more than you need - you don’t feel you have to keep it to yourself. The very essence of, in fact!
